Asphalt Rejuvenator is a pavement preservation treatment that restores the natural oils (maltenes) lost during the asphalt aging process.
Over time, UV exposure, oxidation, and weather cause asphalt to dry out and become brittle. Rejuvenator penetrates deep into the pavement and restores flexibility, durability, and resistance to cracking.
Unlike traditional sealcoating products, rejuvenator uses Maltene Replacement Technology (MRT) to chemically restore the asphalt binder.
Rejuvenator is especially effective for commercial asphalt surfaces and preventative maintenance programs.
Typically, rejuvenator treatments last 3-4 years, with reapplication recommended every 3–4 years depending on traffic conditions.
For older asphalt surfaces, we often recommend applying rejuvenator first, followed by a BlackMac sealcoat to lock in the restored oils and provide additional protection.
Asphalt rejuvenator is absorbed directly into the pavement, rather than curing as a surface coating.
Typical curing times:
During the first day, the surface may feel slightly tacky as the rejuvenator penetrates the asphalt. This is normal and will reduce as the material fully absorbs.
Once absorbed, rejuvenator does not wear off like traditional sealcoating and continues protecting the asphalt for several years.
At First Stop Contracting Inc., we use BlackMac asphalt sealer supplied by McAsphalt Industries, a trusted Canadian manufacturer of pavement maintenance products.
BlackMac is a professional-grade asphalt driveway and parking lot sealer designed to preserve and protect existing asphalt pavement from aging and environmental damage.
This high-quality sealer helps protect asphalt from:
The sealer also restores asphalt to a rich black finish, improving the overall appearance of your driveway or parking lot.
BlackMac is designed specifically for long-term pavement preservation and offers several advantages.
Regular asphalt sealing is one of the most effective ways to protect your pavement investment and reduce long-term repair costs.
Asphalt surfaces naturally deteriorate over time due to exposure to sunlight, water, oxygen, and temperature fluctuations.
BlackMac sealer creates a protective barrier that helps:
By sealing the surface, the pavement remains stronger, more flexible, and better protected against Alberta’s harsh climate conditions.
BlackMac asphalt sealer is commonly used on:
This makes it an excellent solution for both residential and commercial asphalt maintenance projects.
Under typical residential conditions:
Longevity depends on several factors including:
Regular sealing every 2–3 years helps maintain the asphalt surface and prevents costly repairs.
Drying and curing times depend on weather conditions, but typical timelines are:
Cool temperatures or high humidity may extend drying times.
For best results we recommend keeping vehicles off the sealed surface for at least 24 hours.
Yes. For best results, cracks should be repaired before applying asphalt sealer.
Our standard preparation process includes:
Proper preparation ensures the sealer bonds correctly and delivers long-lasting protection.
Asphalt sealing is a critical part of preventative pavement maintenance.
Benefits include:
Without regular sealing, asphalt becomes brittle and can deteriorate much faster due to sun exposure, moisture, and freeze-thaw cycles.
Most asphalt surfaces should be sealed every 2 to 3 years depending on usage and environmental conditions.
Regular maintenance helps keep asphalt surfaces protected, durable, and visually appealing for many years.
We repair large cracks using industrial hot rubber crack sealing, one of the most durable crack repair methods available.
Our process includes:
Our hot crack sealant contains approximately 60% rubber compound, allowing it to expand and contract with the asphalt during seasonal temperature changes.
Benefits include:
Hot rubber crack sealing significantly outperforms traditional cold-pour crack sealers.
